Music has been the guiding force of Anirban Roy Chowdhury’s life for over three decades. As an internationally acclaimed tabla artist, educator, composer, and founder of Rhythm Eternal, he has dedicated his career to preserving the timeless traditions of Indian Classical Music while inspiring the next generation of musicians through authentic education and meaningful artistic experiences.
His musical journey began at an early age and was shaped through years of rigorous training under some of the greatest legends of Indian Classical Music. He is honored to be a disciple of Ustad Allah Rakha Khan, continued his advanced training under Pandit Yogesh Samsi in Mumbai, and has spent more than fifteen years receiving invaluable guidance from Padma Vibhushan Ustad Zakir Hussain in the United States. Their teachings continue to influence every aspect of his artistry, philosophy, and approach to education.
In 2007, Anirban founded Rhythm Eternal with a vision of creating more than just a music academy. His goal was to build a vibrant community where students of all ages and backgrounds could experience the depth, beauty, and discipline of Indian Classical Tabla through authentic Guru-Shishya-inspired training combined with structured modern teaching methods.
Today, Rhythm Eternal proudly serves students, families, schools, universities, and cultural organizations throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, while also connecting with students across the United States and around the world through live online classes, workshops, masterclasses, concerts, lecture demonstrations, and cultural collaborations.
Beyond the classroom, Anirban has performed extensively as a soloist and accompanist, collaborating with distinguished artists and presenting Indian Classical Music at concerts, festivals, educational institutions, and cultural events. His performances reflect not only technical excellence but also a deep respect for tradition, creativity, and artistic expression.
As an educator, Anirban believes that learning Tabla extends far beyond mastering rhythms. It is a journey that develops discipline, patience, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for one of the world’s richest musical traditions. Every lesson is designed to help students build strong technical foundations while encouraging them to discover their own artistic voice.
Through Rhythm Eternal, Anirban continues to preserve the legacy of his gurus while sharing the transformative power of Indian Classical Music with communities across the Tri-State area and beyond. His mission is to ensure that this timeless tradition continues to inspire future generations through excellence in education, performance, and cultural exchange.
