Anirban trained for seven years under the legendary Ustad Allah Rakha, followed by more than a decade of rigorous and immersive training under Pandit Yogesh Samsi in Mumbai. He has continued his advanced training for more than fifteen years under Padma Vibhushan Ustad Zakir Hussain in the United States.
His education extended far beyond formal lessons. Following the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara, he spent countless hours alongside his Gurus—learning throughout the day, practicing, listening, observing rehearsals, discussing music, and attending concerts.
